Personal Record is a new regular Thursday feature here on my blog, an ongoing stream of the images I make outside of my professional career. The personal images, mobile images, outtakes, and random candid images that I take on my iPhone, my X100, my 5D MKII or whatever other camera I happen to have handy at the time; a documentation of my day-to-day life and the things I come across that interest me visually.
The Western New York chapter of the American Society of Media photographers held their end of summer party this past week at the Blue Monk. As the professional photography community in WNY grows and becomes more and more tightly knit it is great to start seeing people coming out to educational and social events more often. My friend Erin had her birthday just the day after a large and hectic production we collaborated on. Our friend Katie Ambrose decided to throw quite the loft party for her to celebrate. I had the pleasure of spending time with many friends that I had not seen in quite a while as we partied.
